Doc org fetes Acad nominees

Noms to be screened at 19th annual DocuDay March 24

The Intl. Documentary Assn. will host its 19th annual Academy Awards Nominees Program and Reception honoring the nominees for documentary feature and short films at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater March 22.

The nominated films will also be screened at the 19th annual DocuDay on March 24 at the Paramount Lot.

The feature nominees are "Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport," "Legacy," "Long Night's Journey Into Day," "Scottsboro: An American Tragedy" and "Sound and Fury."

"Big Mamma," "Curtain Call," "Dolphins," "The Man on Lincoln's Nose" and "On Tiptoe: Gentle Steps to Freedom" are the nominees in the short film category.

IDA was one of the sponsors of "The Man on Lincoln's Nose." "Legacy" and "On Tiptoe" were part of the IDA DOCtober Intl. Film Festival.
