Cinematheque fetes Bardem

Screenings will be held at Egyptian's Lloyd E. Rigler Theater

The American Cinematheque will pay tribute to Oscar nominee Javier Bardem with a film retrospective on March 12 and 14.

A newcomer to American auds, the thesp with nearly 20 films on his resume has been a mainstay in Spain for more than a decade, working under such helmers as Pedro Almodovar and Bigas Luna.

Prior to "Before Night Falls," however, Bardem was known Stateside only for his roles in "Jamon Jamon" and "Boca a Boca."
