'Mary Poppins' to appear, set design unveiled

Academy Award-winning thesp Julie Andrews will make her sixth Oscar appearance during the 73rd Academy Awards on March 25.

The three-time Oscar nominee won for the title role in "Mary Poppins." Andrews recently completed "The Princess Diaries," her first Disney film since "Poppins" in 1964. In April, she will star in CBS' live presentation of "On Golden Pond."

In other Oscar news, Academy Awards telecast producer Gil Cates and production designer Roy Christopher have revealed the design for this year's kudocast.

The set will feature a giant "cove" that starts at the floor and curves up the back, turning into a louvered ceiling piece. Flanking this cove will be four concave and convex pieces of stainless steel sculpture incorporating the Oscar profile.
