Oscar Watch

Old fused with new at traditional event

A tribute to the origins of moving pictures will be the theme of this year's Governors' Ball. Upon entering the gala, immediately after the March 25 Oscar kudocast, guests will be immersed in Edwardian elegance and luxury intended to transport them back in time to the beginnings of movie motion.

Event's ambiance will fuse the elegance of an earlier time with modern use of architecture, technology and lighting. Decor will complement existing architectural features of the Shrine Auditorium's Expo Hall.
