Nussbaum to drive 'Truck'

Pic is cross between 'Cyrano' and 'Mission Impossible'

Joe Nussbaum is attached to make his feature directing debut with "Love Truck," a romantic comedy in development at Warner Bros. Pictures-based Jerry Weintraub Prods.

Written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, pic crosses a story inspired by Cyrano De Bergerac with elements of "Mission: Impossible." An operative is hired to make a beautiful architect fall in love with a CEO's charm-impaired son, only to find that he has fallen in love with her himself.

Jerry Weintraub acquired the script out of his discretionary fund in October 1999.

Warners execs Polly Cohen and Dan Linn are developing the project with Weintraub and his senior VP production, John Tomko, who will produce the film.

Nussbaum wrote and directed the hit short film "George Lucas in Love."
