The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences will again join forces with the Video Software Dealers Assn. in sponsoring an in-store awareness campaign for the 73rd Academy Awards on March 25.
The "Oscar Night Comes Home" campaign will promote the availability of Oscar-winning and nominated films on homevideo, in addition to promoting the upcoming awards telecast.
"The campaign encourages movie fans to view Oscar-winning movies from the past as well as films that have been nominated for Academy Awards this year," said Academy executive administrator Ric Robertson.
VSDA members will receive an in-store promotional kit this week, with displays going up after noms are announced Feb. 13.
