PARK CITY, Utah -- The American Film Institute's AFI Fest 2001 has joined online film festival submission service Without a Box as a partner in testing and development.

Without a Box is the provider of the Intl. Film Festival Submission Service. The online resource is designed to allow filmmakers to apply to more than 1,200 film fests worldwide with a single entry form, saving effort and trimming submission costs by 20%-30%, while festivals can simplify the entry management process.

Without a Box has "worked closely with film festivals and filmmakers to ensure their service really meets all of our needs," said Christian Gaines, director of AFI Fest 2001.

Under the arrangement, AFI Fest 2001 will use the service and provide input to Without a Box on its experience with the product to ensure its design serves the needs of its users.

Other test and development partners include the Toronto Intl. Film Festival Group and Cleveland, Edinburgh, Ann Arbor and Dances With Films fests.
