Gugino to play three in 'One'

Action/sci-fi thriller to be helmed by scribe Wong

PARK CITY, Utah -- Carla Gugino is in advanced negotiations to play the female lead in Revolution's "The One," set to go before cameras Monday in Los Angeles. Already set to star are Jet Li, Delroy Lindo and Jason Statham.

The $48 million action/sci-fi thriller rests on the premise that there are multiple universes with people similar to us in each of them. Gugino will play three versions of the same character.

Writer-director James Wong, who penned the screenplay with Glen Morgan, will helm the project, set to be released Aug. 10. Pic will be produced by Morgan, Wong and Steve Chasman. Exec producers are Todd Garner, Lata Ryan and Tom Sherak. Corey Yuen will direct all the action sequences in the film.

Gugino recently co-starred in Miramax's "Spy Kids."
