Warner Bros. TV nabs Freid

Exec to become director of comedy development

Jocelyn Freid has been named director of comedy development for Warner Bros. Television.

Freid started her career in 1991 in the development department at Columbia TriStar Television, where she became director of primetime series development. She worked on the development team for "Early Edition," "Malcolm & Eddie," "Moloney" and "Matt Waters."

In 1995 Freid was named director of primetime comedy development, supervising the development of "King of Queens," "The Gregory Hines Show," "Between Brothers," "Ask Harriet," "The Simple Life" and "Guys Like Us."

Freid moved to CBS Television in 1998 as director of primetime comedy current, overseeing the series "Becker," among others. Last year she was promoted to VP of primetime comedy current, adding "Yes, Dear" and "Kiss Me Guido" to her plate.

"Jocelyn's experience working as both a buyer and supplier, coupled with her strong ties in the community, made her the perfect addition to our comedy development team," said Steve Pearlman, exec VP for development at Warner Bros. Television.
