Digital f/x studio Mr. X bows

Visual f/x supervisor Dennis Berardi, and Chris Wallace and Sylvain Taillon of Toronto-based Topix/Mad Dog have formed Mr. X, a digital f/x studio to provide computer-generated visuals for pics shooting in and out of Canada. Company is a joint venture with f/x house Topix. Berardi, formerly an f/x supervisor at post house Toybox, has handled visuals for "The Cell," "Fight Club," "Keeping the Faith" and "Bride of Chucky." Mr. X will specialize in photo-realistic CG, matte painting, compositing and film or high-definition resolution post-production. Software programmer Colin Withers has joined Mr. X as studio tools developer. He was previously technical director at Topix. Rounding out the team are flame artist Aaron Weintraub, compositor Marco Posinelli, digital matte artist/animator Kristy Blackwell, character animator Brian Anderson and animators Sean Cohen, Shane Glading and Mark Stepanek.
