Col Tristar TV shuffles distrib staff

Vets Weiser, Rohrs, Kissack to head rejiggered operation

Columbia TriStar TV Distribution is reorganizing its distrib staff in response to the changing TV marketplace and to fill the void since Steve Mosko ascended from head of distribution to division prexy.

Move follows the Sony cable and syndie programming division's announcement last week of Russ Krasnoff's promotion to prexy of programming and production (Daily Variety, Jan. 10).

The redesigned distrib operation will be led by John Weiser, John Rohrs and Joe Kissack, CTTD sales vets who have been upped to new exec veep posts.

Kissack and Weiser will supervise broadcast syndication distribution, with Kissack overseeing the company's five outside sales offices that sell to and service local stations and with Weiser overseeing the company's relations with station groups.

Weiser also will manage CTTD's film and TV library and handle network movie sales. The library comprises 5,000 films and 350 series.

They will jointly develop sales strategies for program rollouts and renewals.

Rohrs will be responsible for off-net program sales to cable webs.
