'Malcolm' in movies at Regency
Show's actors intended to follow project to bigscreen
Although no deals are in place, a New Regency rep said it's intended that the show's actors will follow the project in its translation to the bigscreen. Boomer will produce the pic.
Now in its second year, "Malcolm in the Middle" is the story of a middle-class family of four squabbling brothers and their exasperated parents as seen through the eyes of Malcolm (Frankie Muniz), a kid who just tries to get through the day without being too embarrassed by his family.
"Malcolm" recently received two Emmys -- Boomer took one for writing, while Todd Holland picked up an award for direction.
VP of production Kara Francis will oversee the project with production president Sanford Panitch.
This is the first feature deal for Condon and Toomin, who have been writers on laffers such as "Friends" and are co-exec producers on "The Geena Davis Show."
