Anschutz has Kodak moment
New theater to host Oscars in 2002
The companies will combine efforts to bring more theater, music and other award shows to the venue. The new theater, which will host the Oscar kudocast starting in 2002, is expected to showcase more than 100 events in its first year.
As developer, owner and operator of L.A.'s Staples Center, AEG has experience in marketing and promoting live entertainment.
"Anschutz Entertainment Group has established great working relationships with talent, booking and production companies to produce one-of-a-kind events," said Lee Wagman, president of TrizecHahn Development.
The partnership is set to last through at least March 2005.
The Kodak Theatre is one of several facilities within the $567 million development being constructed at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue in the heart of Hollywood. Project will include the 640-room Renaissance Hollywood Hotel and a 40,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom as well as clubs, television broadcast facilities, stores and restaurants.
