Magnaghi hired as Italia 1 head

Co.'s vet exec replaces Giovalli

MILAN -- Mediaset veteran Stefano Magnaghi, 37, has been appointed director of Italia 1, the group's kids and youth channel.

He replaces Roberto Giovalli, who left Silvio Berlusconi's group in October when he was appointed TV director at TeleMontecarlo, the free TV group Vittorio Cecchi Gori sold Telecom Italia.

Magnaghi began working for Mediaset in 1991 and is one of the most successful producers and show authors of the group.
