Reed, Ellis raised as Merritt reduces role

Dave Merritt was chief operating officer and chief financial officer at 2-year-old AMG, its Artists Television Group and Artists Production Group divisions as well as at Ovitz-led tech venture capital and consulting firm Lynx Technology Group.
Dale Reed, previously controller, has been tapped the new chief financial officer across all of the units.
"Dale has been with the company since its inception and worked closely with Dave in the development of the company," Ovitz said. "His previous experience will make this a very natural transition."
Meanwhile, James Ellis, formerly lead general counsel at the company, becomes exec in charge of administration and finance at the ATG division, while Bryce Johnson and Tim Connors continue as general counsels throughout the company.
Jon Vein, former chief operating officer at Film Roman, was recently tapped for the same post at AMG and APG.
Merritt, who is leaving his posts to run the West Coast office of a Wall Street investment firm, will remain a consultant to Ovitz, AMG and its divisions, as well as a board member at ATG.
"After working with Dave for nearly 10 years, I asked him to join me in launching (the company) more than two years ago," Ovitz said. "Dave has been instrumental in orchestrating a series of growth initiatives and in his new role will continue to be an integral part of our future success."
