Disney Auctions bows today in eBay pact

Cyberbiz Brief

The Mouse House today bows Disney Auctions, a co-venture with eBay.com that's been long in the works. Site plans to feature nearly 90,000 items for sale from the Walt Disney vault, including Bette Midler's costume from "Hocus Pocus" and a 13-foot-high sign from Disneyland. Disney inked a four-year pact with eBay in February not only to launch Disney Auctions but auctions for portal Go.com, ABC.com and ESPN.com. Site's bow follows the recent relaunch of Go.com as part of Disney's efforts to overhaul its Web ventures to increase traffic and revenues.
