SBS, Kloiber will launch German net
World Brief
Deal would give the broadcasting group its first channel in Germany. SBS topper Harry Sloan told the local press that the company could realistically invest between $22 million and $88 million in a new channel.
Kloiber announced plans to launch an analog channel after Rupert Murdoch bought him out of mini-web TM3 earlier this year. Channel is rumored to be going to Kirch, one of two German groups that control the local broadcasting market. The other is Bertelsmann. A minority shareholder in SBS, Kloiber's Tele Munchen and SBS are involved in several ventures across Europe.
