Revolution gets 'Lazy' for Perry

Adee to pen script, Garner to produce

Revolution Studios has purchased the pitch "The Lazy Private Eye" as a starring vehicle for Matthew Perry, the "Friends" star coming off the hit comedy "The Whole Nine Yards."

Paul Adee ("Taz") will pen the script; project was set up by producers Adam Rifkin and Steve Bing under their Shangri-La Entertainment banner. Revolution's Todd Garner, who brought in and will supervise the project, will also be a producer.

In the action comedy, Perry will play the world's laziest private detective, who's hired to find a woman who turns out to be an ex-g.f. who broke his heart.

Perry, whose next bigscreen starring role will be in the Reginald Hudlin-directed "Servicing Sarah" for Mandalay, is repped by CAA and managed by Doug Chapin. Rifkin helmed "Detroit Rock City" and wrote "Small Soldiers." He and Bing are repped by Alan Gasmer of William Morris and Peter Safran of Brillstein-Grey.
