Murphy is an animator whose last work at Columbia was "Stuart Little." He has also worked on the Warner Bros.' pics "Iron Giant" and "Osmosis Jones." Barker is a screenwriter who scripted the Eric Roberts-starrer "Hitman's Run" as well as the "The Base."
The two created the storyline together, which centers on a misplaced set of keys that finds itself transported to the Land of Lost Things. There, the jangling young hero must battle that world's evil ruler -- a single sock named Argyle -- in order to free the enslaved multitudes of other lost items and return them to their homes.
Barker will now write the script, while Murphy will develop its character design and artwork.
Revolution executive Greg Silver-man will supervise the development and production of the project.
The duo was repped in the deal by Writers & Artists Agency, and by the law offices of Lichter, Grossman, Nichols and Adler as well as Nancy Newhouse Porter of Weston, Ben-shoof, Rochefort, Rubalcava, and MacCuish; Barker and Murphy are managed by Peter Meyer Management.
