Bali telco receives $7 mil for pay TV

Lippo subsid bringing cable to island through Kabelvision

JAKARTA -- Pay TV is coming to everyone's most exotic escape-to isle -- Bali.

Bali Interaktif, a telco subsid of the Lippo Bank, has invested $7 million in the project. The cable operator behind the project is Indonesia's Kabelvision, headed by CEO Jim Guy Tucker, a former governor of Arkansas.

If the pay TV biz catches on in Bali, Lippo will consider bringing pay TV to islands in the eastern part of Indonesia.
