Helmer Tarsem insisted his nightmare pic, unlike the convention, is not just a psychological thriller. "This is opera! This is theater! I hope nobody dreams like that and thinks like that -- if they do, they should see a shrink!"
Star villain Vincent D'Onofrio seemed to think it was more real. "The stuff that I was exposing myself to (while researching the film) was pretty harsh, stuff that I don't want to really discuss ... some of it was really shocking."
However, there was an upside, he added.
"The best part was watching Jennifer come out of her trailer every morning. It was wonderful."
Among the delegates at the Century Club after-party were pic's Jennifer Lopez, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jake Weber, Tara Subkoff, Colton James and Jake Thomas; producer Julio Caro; New Line execs Michael DeLuca, Donna Langley, Carolyn Manetti, Rolf Mittweg, Joe Nimziki and David Tuckerman; and guests Jerry Bruckheimer, Cher, Jon Favreau, F. Gary Gray, Jennifer Grey, Brooke Langton, Ed Limato, Jenny McCarthy, Rose McGowan, Diana Ross, Will Smith, Gus Van Sant and Jon Voight.
