Hubbard will pen Bruckheimer's new 'Life'

Mouse prod'n VP Reed to o'see comedy/drama

HOLLYWOOD -- Jerry Bruckheimer Films has inked a deal with David Hubbard to pen the comedy/drama "Dad's New Life" for low- against mid-six figures.

Bruckheimer will produce, with his wife Linda Bruckheimer and Susan Becker exec producing. Disney veep of production Jason Reed will oversee the project.

Story centers on a daughter who, after the death of her mother, must slowly comes to terms with her father's new wife -- a woman she doesn't quite trust.

Hubbard recently inked a deal to rewrite "Calcio" for Miramax Films. He rewrote "Straight on Till Morning" for Fox and Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures. He also co-wrote "Delivering Milo" with Diana Wagman, helmed by Nick Castle and starring Bridget Fonda and Albert Finney.

Scribe arrived on the scene with the spec script "Noel," which sold to Fox 2000 with Howard Rosenman attached to produce. He is currently developing a love story with producer Lawrence Bender.

Hubbard is repped by Writers and Artists Agency and attorney Peter Nelson at Nelson, Felker, Levine and Dern.
