Inside Move: Publicity VP Kahn ankles Fox

Searchlight prez Rice sez: 'We wish her well'

Sharon Kahn has exited as Fox Searchlight's head of publicity.

Kahn, who was senior vice president of publicity and promotions, said she was leaving for personal reasons. She joined Fox in January of this year. The longtime press rep previously headed her own firm, Kahn & Jacobs Public Relations, with partner Susan Jacobs. They handled such figures as Paul Schrader and Melvin Van Peebles and companies HBO, USA Films and Samuel Goldwyn Films, as well as some classical musicians. Kahn said she expects to be out of the country for about six weeks before returning to Los Angeles.

Searchlight president Peter Rice said, "We wish her well and it's been great having her here."

Searchlight, the specialty label of the Fox film studio, has Fina Torres' "Woman on Top," starring Penelope Cruz, opening next month.
