Greenestreet's Hall exits
Producer still developing 2 films

Hall jump-started Greenestreet's digital division last year, reeling in such projects as Griffin Dunne's "Famous," which screened at Cannes, and Jesse Peretz's new film, produced by Forensic Films under the working title "The Chateau." She's the executive producer of Greenestreet partner Fisher Stevens' "Just a Kiss," featuring Kyra Sedgwick, Ron Eldard and Marisa Tomei.
Greenestreet, which just struck a co-financing and co-production deal with MGM/UA, has since assumed a higher profile as a producer of films in both media. It recently inked an unconventional overall union contract designed to accommodate digital production and, under Hall's watch, created a research and development facility to help directors work in different media.
But as digital filmmaking grew more commonplace, Greenestreet head John Penotti said, the company moved to fold Hall's division into its other operations.
"Dolly came on with the express intent of delivering us into the digital film business and making the medium palatable to the kind of filmmakers we want to work with," Penotti said. "We're now over the learning curve of needing a clear delineation at Greenestreet between the 35mm division and the digital division."
Hall is still developing two films for Greenestreet that Penotti declined to name. "Anything she wants to produce," he said, "she can bring here."
