Reed Elsevier taps Prozes

Exec to o'see global legal publishing, information as chief officer

Andrew Prozes has been tapped for the new role of chief executive officer of Reed Elsevier's global legal publishing and information division.

Prozes, who will join the company in late July and will be based at its U.S. corporate headquarters in NY, will report to Reed Elsevier's chief exec officer Crispin Davis.

"I am delighted to welcome Andrew to Reed Elsevier," said Davis. "He is a high quality manager, with an impressive and consistent track record of success. His leadership and experience will have a major impact on developing our global legal business."

Reed Elsevier is the parent company of Daily Variety.

Prior to his appointment, Prozes worked for the West Group, which he joined in 1977 as exec veep and chief operating officer of West Law. He was primarily responsible for West Online. Before West, Prozes held senior management roles at Southam, a Canadian newspaper publisher and Canada System Group, a computer service provider company.
