Mo'Nique, Busta Rhymes to host; Dr. Dre leads with 5 nods

Mo'Nique is currently appearing in the "Queens of Comedy" nationwide tour. Busta Rhymes just released his fourth solo album, "Anarchy."
Dr. Dre received big ups from the awards show, leading the nomination roster with five nods.
Dre, whose latest album, "Dr. Dre 2001," is up for album of the year, was also nominated for artist of the year (solo), single of the year ("Still D.R.E.," with Snoop Dogg), producer of the year (with Mel-Man) and music video of the year ("Guilty Conscience," with Eminem).
The hip-hop pioneer will also be handed the Lifetime Achievement Award, along with fellow ex-N.W.A member Ice Cube. The award show will present the Pioneer Award to Grand Wizard Theodore.
Besides Dre, solo artist of the year nominees include DMX, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and Nas. Group artist of the year noms include Mobb Deep, Hot Boys, The Lox, Bone Thugs N Harmony and Method Man & Redman.
Awards will be handed out at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Aug. 22, and UPN will air the ceremony on Aug. 29 at 8 p.m.
