Goldberg, McGowan on 'Sofa'

Breziner to helm indie pic based on Craven novel

Adam Goldberg and Rose McGowan will star in the indie pic "Fast Sofa," based on Bruce Craven's novel of the same name.

Goldberg will star as a Hollywood bartender obsessed with comic books and Japanese culture who falls for his best friend's girlfriend (McGowan).

"Fast Sofa" will be directed by Salome Breziner ("Tollbooth") from a screenplay by Craven, Peter Chase and Breziner. Producers are Steven J. Wolfe and Christopher Figg.

Goldberg will begin production on "Fast Sofa" in July, immediately after wrapping the romantic comedy "All Over the Guy," for director Julie Davis ("I Love You, Don't Touch Me!") and executive producer Don Roos ("The Opposite of Sex").

Then, in August, Goldberg will begin production in New York on Darren Star's new one-hour Wall Street drama series, "The Street," for Fox Broadcasting in association with Artists Television Group.

Goldberg most recently completed a supporting role opposite Val Kilmer in Castle Rock Entertainment's suspense thriller "Salton Sea," for Warner Bros. He is repped by Steven Levy of Innovative Artists, manager Alan Somers of Pure Entertainment and attorney Robert Offer.
