'Life' over as Fox net yanks show
Hewitt skein pulled, net pushes back preem of 'Sex'

Fox has yanked the Jennifer Love Hewitt drama "Time of Your Life" off the skeds for good, just two weeks after the series returned from a long hiatus.
The Columbia TriStar TV teenybopper skein, a spinoff of the recently departed "Party of Five," was pulled last season after 10 segs due to poor reviews and even worse numbers. Viewers showed no love for Love, giving her series a dismal 3 share last week.
Meanwhile, Fox has also decided to push back the series premiere of the Warner Bros. drama "Opposite Sex." The series debut, which Fox had already started promoting, was originally slated for Wednesday at 8 p.m. -- smack dab opposite the CBS demo island "Survivor."
Instead, "Sex" will get a new home when it debuts Monday, July 17, at 8 p.m. Fox insiders said the delayed premiere will give the net a little more time to raise awareness of the summertime skein.
With "Life" and "Sex" out of the way, Fox will stunt with the specials "TV Guide's Truth Behind the Sitcoms 3" and "The World's Most Incredible Animal Rescues 3" on Wednesday, and another run of the theatrical "Jerry McGuire" on July 5 (opposite "Survivor" and the premiere of "Big Brother" on CBS).
"Time of Your Life's" original 10-episode run averaged a 2.9 Nielsen rating among adults 18-49 and a 4.1 rating/6 share in homes.
The show returned on June 14, but its two segs pulled only a 1.3 rating with adults 18-49 and a 2.1/4 in homes. Seven episodes remain unaired.
