Despite the party's temporary eating disorder, the filmmakers were in a fine mood. Peter Farrelly said he thought "Irene" was the best film he and his brother Bobby had made.
"I love our movie," Peter said as he viewed the extensive party that filled the Westwood Macy's parking lot. "I don't know how people could go to something like this if they didn't love their movie. The day will come, and I dread it."
Bobby Farrelly said he thought "Irene" was "the best work Jim Carrey has ever done because it shows all of his ways. It's not just dramatic or comedic. He has to hit all the notes in this role."
Among those at the Village Theater to see those ways were Fox's Peter Chernin, Bill Mechanic, Tom Sherak and Tom Rothman; producers Bradley Thomas, Marc Fischer and Charlie Wessler; star Carrey; plus 1,000 guests including Matthew Perry, Alicia Silverstone, Mimi Rogers, Garry Shandling, Lou Pitt, Lee Gabler, Brad Krevoy, Karl Austen and Bobby Shriver.
