Kid Rock and Sebastian Bach look on as Wendy Flom and Mark McGrath air kiss at the UJA dinner. |
"His true calling is being a stand-up comedian. He's a music executive second," said McGrath.
Previously senior VP of Atlantic Records, Flom has been instrumental in signing Matchbox 20, Sugar Ray, Edwin McCain and Rock to Lava.
"The biggest perk of running my own label is getting to pick the artists that I want to work with and see them through, from the very beginning where they are playing small clubs to where they are headlining arenas," said Flom.
Bif Naked hosted the festivities, which also raised money for UJA. After a toast by Ahmet Ertegun, co-chairman/co-CEO of the Atlantic Group, Flom accepted the award in his grand style -- telling a series of raunchy jokes, despite the presence of Mom and Dad. Also on hand to honor Flom were Skid Row's Sebastian Bach, the Atlantic Group's Ron Shapiro and Columbia Records' Don Ienner.
