TW's Collins tops cable org

NCTA board members named for 2000-01

NEW YORK — Joe Collins, chairman and CEO of Time Warner Cable, has been elected chairman of the board of the National Cable TV Assn. for 2000-01.

The vice chairman is Michael Willner, president of Insight Communications; the secretary, Jerald Kent, president and CEO of Charter Communications; and the treasurer, John Rigas, president, CEO and chairman of Adelphia Communications.

Exec committee

These officers, and the full-time president of the NCTA, Robert Sachs, will serve on the executive committee, along with the following:

Decker Anstrom, CEO of the Weather Channel; Nick Davatzes, president and CEO of the A&E Networks; Jim Dolan, president and CEO of Cablevision Systems; Bob Miron, president of Advance/Newhouse Communications; Jim Robbins, president and CEO of Cox Communications; Brian Roberts, president of Comcast; Dan Somers, president and CEO of AT&T Broadband; and Ted Turner, vice chairman of Time Warner.
