Constantin, Propaganda slate 2 redos
German prod'n co. raises coin from IPO on Neuer Markt
CANNES -- “Maybe, Maybe Not,” a project that Constantin Film has been developing for an English-lingo remake, will be one of the first pics greenlit under the newly created production venture between Germany’s Constantin and Propaganda Films, unveiled last week.
A remake of Constantin’s current German box office hit, “Just the Two of Us,” is also in the pipeline.
Constantin will bring to the table a $150 million revolving credit line secured on the back of its recent IPO on Germany’s Neuer Markt exchange.
That coin will back two other U.S. ventures Constantin has signed in recent weeks with Key Entertainment and Impact Pictures.
Company is currently negotiating a higher credit line.
Constantin plans to capitalize on the talent pool of the former Polygram shingle Propaganda Films. In the process of expanding its feature production activities, Propaganda will feed in directors from its commercials arm to develop into moviemakers.
Thanks to the pacts it has recently signed, Constantin will be able to develop output deals with international companies fed by product from its international production ventures.
