'Falcone' may get summer shot
Eye web ran all nine segs of the Columbia TriStar Television skein over the course of 10 nights last month, hoping the experimental scheduling would turn the show into an event. Ratings for most nights of the run were disappointing, leading most industryites to assume "Falcone" was a goner.
CBS programmers still believe in the show, however: Eye execs are seriously considering a plan to bring "Falcone" back as a weekly series this summer, giving it one more chance to find an aud. No timeslots have been finalized, though a Friday or Saturday night berth might make sense.
What’s more, the Eye has options on most of the key on-camera and behind-the-scenes talent associated with "Falcone," making it easy for CBS to bring back the skein as a midseason replacement should a summer run produce encouraging ratings results.

'Queen,' 'Family' bows postponed
Scratch two high-profile contenders off the list of pilot contenders vying for a spot on the networks’ fall 2000 roster.
ABC and sister studio Touchstone Television have agreed to delay production on "Homecoming Queen," the Brett Butler half-hour from exec producers Tom Shadyac, Nina Wass and Don Reo. Also being pushed: "American Family," the multicultural laffer from former "Friends" scribe Alexa Junge being produced by Brad Grey Television and Columbia TriStar Television for the WB.
Both pilots are expected to be taped later this year for consideration as midseason contenders.
In the case of "Queen," insiders said ABC and Touchstone execs both felt the script for the project wasn’t quite ready. The Junge project is also expected to be refocused.
