Former MGM exec to head marketing for indie film site
At MGM Greenberg created the international marketing campaigns for the three most recent James Bond films and “The Thomas Crown Affair,” “Stigmata” and “The Man in the Iron Mask.”
“We are thrilled to have Randy join the company,” CEO Howard Rosenberg said. “The depth of his roots in the entertainment industry, his passion for independent films and his experience marketing a long list of blockbuster hits around the world uniquely qualify him to contribute significantly to our ability to serve the independent filmmaker.”
AlwaysI.com, founded in 1998, has a library of over 500 titles and is trying to create a virtual community for independent filmmakers.
“We believe that consumers’ thirst for entertainment on the Internet has only just begun,” said Gary Zeidenstein, founder and veep of content acquisition. “The Internet is opening up new possibilities for independent entertainment creators and our mission is to provide them with the ultimate forum from which to be seen.”
In addition, the company received $5 million in an initial round of financing, according to Rosenberg. The funding was provided in part by Gruber & McBaine Capital Management and New Millennium Partners.
AlwaysI.com recently relocated its headquarters from Cincinnati to San Francisco.
