Rudin Prods. raises Roybal

Exec to o'see story dept. as director of development

Scott Rudin Prods. has upped Mark Roybal to director of development.

In his new post, Roybal will oversee the story department, primarily scouting literary properties. Based in New York, he will report to Eric Steel, senior production VP.

Roybal, who started his career at Rudin as an intern in 1996, previously served as an assistant, an executive assistant to the producer and then a production assistant before getting his current promotion.

He also has worked as an associate producer on the Rudin-produced pics “Bringing Out the Dead,” “Sleepy Hollow,” “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” and the upcoming John Singleton-helmed “Shaft.”
