Kirchner upped to DTS topper

Exec served as operations head

Sound tech outfit DTS has promoted Jon Kirchner to prexy and chief operating officer. He had served for 18 months as exec veep of operations.

After joining the company soon after its founding in summer, 1993, Kirchner held such titles as veep of finance and business development and chief financial officer.

From 1989-93, he worked at the consulting firm now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“It’s been a pleasure for me to work closely with Jon,” said Dan Slusser, CEO of DTS. “This appointment, in conjunction with recent additions to our talented senior management team, positions the company for long-term success.”

Agoura Hills, Calif.-based DTS offers a range of multichannel audio for all entertainment venues, including movie theaters. Its digital sound is featured worldwide on 19,000 screens.
