USC unspools First Look Fest

29 student films to screen

Coinciding with its 70th anniversary, USC's School of Cinema-Television will kick off its First Look Festival today at the Director's Guild. The fest will run through Thursday at the DGA; and on Saturday and Sunday at the Norris Theatre, on the USC campus.

"This is an opportunity to look at the talent of tomorrow in the world of entertainment," said associate dean of student/industry relations Larry Auerbach. "Over the years, many students with films in the First Look program have obtained deals, agents and managers as a result."

A total of 29 student dramas, comedies and docus will unspool during the weeklong event, which will be hosted by USC alumni Conrad L. Hall, Dan Mirvish, Jay Roach and Scott Stone.
