Proskauer Rose ramps up entertainment arm
Law firm adds 10 to L.A. office
McCambridge Deixler brings an array of outstanding entertainment clients, including record labels Elektra Entertainment, Elemental Records and Antra Records; motion picture, video, cable and television companies such as USA Networks, NBC, Artisan Entertainment and Mega Entertainment and recording artists including Beck, Black Crowes, Counting Crows, Don McLean, Dr. Dre, Goo Goo Dolls, Smashing Pumpkins and Snoop Dog.
Among those joining Proskauer as partners are well-known litigators Bert Deixler and Larry Rappaport. "These exceptionally talented lawyers will enhance our powerful presence in entertainment on both coasts," said Martin Zohn, managing partner of Proskauer's L.A. office.
Deixler and his partner Richard Marmaro added, "Our law firm has been courted by many prominent national firms over the last several years, but when we examined the client base, reputation and firm culture, we all knew that Proskauer was a perfect marriage of vision, attorneys, clients and practice areas."
Last year, Proskauer added veteran music litigator Charles Ortner and his five-partner litigation team to its ranks. That group brought clients Madonna, Lauryn Hill, Shania Twain, Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, BMG Entertainment, Interscope, Universal, EMI and the Zomba Group.
