Parker tapped host of MTV pic kudos

Gallen to produce show

NEW YORK -- "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker will host the two-hour "2000 MTV Movie Awards," which will air June 8 on the music cabler.

In its ninth year, the show will tape in L.A., with Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet Prods. producing once again. Award nominees will be announced shortly.

Last year, the awards show -- hosted by Lisa Kudrow -- attracted its largest-ever audience, with 4.6 million households tuning in.
