Tom Spiegel, executive vice president of MP3.com Inc., resigned Friday to "pursue other business interests," although he will remain with the company as a consultant for the rest of this year.
President and chief operating officer Robin Richards will take over Spiegel's division of sales, marketing deal transactions.
"MP3.com is a great company with outstanding people," Spiegel said in a statement. "I had a wonderful year at MP3.com and look forward to assisting the company whenever they need my counsel."
"We have benefited greatly from Tom's many contributions," said Michael Robertson, chairman and CEO of the San Diego-based company.
