George Clooney has bagged a bevy of big names to co-star in the upcoming live CBS telefilm "Fail Safe."
Richard Dreyfuss, Harvey Keitel, Hank Azaria, James Cromwell, Brian Dennehy, Sam Elliot, Don Cheadle and Miguel Ferrer have been added to the drama's cast, which also includes Noah Wyle and Clooney.
"Fail Safe" is based on the classic 1960s novel and subsequent movie thriller about a Cold War doomsday scenario.
Clooney, Pam Williams and Laura Ziskin are exec producing "Fail Safe" for Clooney's Maysville Pictures and Warner Bros. Television.
Pic, a throwback to the golden age of television's live playhouses, will air April 9 following the Eye's coverage of the Masters golf tournament. Stephen Frears will direct the live broadcast, while Walter Bernstein, who wrote the screenplay to the 1964 Sidney Lumet film, has penned the new adaptation as well.
