'Sky' wins for social values

American Cinema Foundation honors 'Jag,' 'Raymond'

The American Cinema Foundation has awarded its E Pluribus Unum film honor to Universal's "October Sky."

Org, which honors film and television programs for their promotion of positive social values, is also recognizing CBS' "Jag" and the Eye laffer "Everybody Loves Raymond." A&E's miniseries "P.T. Barnum" is honored for longform programming.

Former MCA and Columbia Pictures chairman Frank Price was this year's recipient of the Carl Foreman Prize, which recognizes a creative talent whose body of work best utilizes an entertainment medium to address social issues.

Honors will be handed out on March 2 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
