GERMANY

Producer-distributor Constantin Film has signed an output deal with U.S. production outfit Escape Artists.

The $150 million deal gives Constantin theatrical, video, DVD, TV and multimedia rights in Germany and Austria as well as limited rights in Switzerland (no theatrical rights in the Alpine nation) for the next six years.

Constantin expects to acquire 15 to 20 films for a license period and promises to pay a minimum 10% of the production budget for the German-speaking rights.

The Munich-based group already enjoys similar long-term agreements with Mandalay Pictures and Spyglass.

Escape Artists was established by Steve Tisch, Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal, producers of such pics as "Forrest Gump" and "Seven Years in Tibet."
