Ellzey free to be prexy at Scott Free
Exec served as 'Crew' associate prod
Ellzey, currently prexy of Disney-based Sonnenfeld/Josephson, most recently served as associate producer on "The Crew," starring Burt Reynolds and Richard Dreyfuss, due out later this year. Pic was directed by Michael Dinner.
At Sonnenfeld/Josephson, Ellzey has supervised the development of more than 25 projects. She has worked closely on such scripts as "Enchanted," written by Hilary Seitz; "Northeast Kingdom," by Laith Zawawi; an untitled Marc Hyman project; "Kill Van Kull," by Richard Regen; "Tin Man," by Anthony Bagarozzi, with John Frankenheimer directing and Shane Black producing; and "The Assistants," written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, with Marlo Thomas producing.
Prior to joining Sonnenfeld/Josephson, Ellzey was a veep of development at Doug Wick's Columbia-based Red Wagon Productions.
She also produced the indie film, "The Poison Tasters," which premiered at Cannes in 1995.
Ellzey started her career at CAA working for Adam Krentzman and Jay Maloney.
Last October, Ridley and Tony Scott entered into a unique pact with Jerry Bruckheimer Films (Daily Variety, Oct. 24, 1999). There they have the freedom to bring projects to either produce or direct, and also to develop projects on their own.
With Bruckheimer, the Scotts are developing such projects as "Lucky Strike" and "Take Down" -- both for Tony Scott to direct.
The Scotts, along with former president Diane Minter-Lewis, recently won Golden Globe kudos for producing the Ben Ross-helmed HBO movie "RKO 281."
