'Hanging' cuts loose
Pic's stars out in force at preem, Spago after-party
The film's three sisters, Diane Keaton, Meg Ryan and Lisa Kudrow, all turned out for Wednesday night's premiere at Westwood's Mann Bruin and Spago after-party. Kudrow, with her sister and brother in tow, made a point of saying her siblings are "much nicer" than her on-screen sisters.
Keaton, who directs and stars as the oldest sister, said it is challenging directing yourself especially "because I'm not a very technical actress. It was a little frightening for Meg and Lisa having to do take after take because of Diane."
Dennis Quaid thought all those takes paid off, repeatedly telling Keaton that she was "a genius" for her work on the picture. His wife, Ryan, was quick to agree: "It was really great working with Diane." Despite her continuing success as an actress, Ryan said, "I really haven't decided what I want to do for a living yet."
Preemgoers were doing double takes all night spotting, among others in attendance, co-stars Adam Arkin and Edie McClurg; Sony's Amy Pascal, John Calley, Gareth Wigan; guests Jack Valenti, Jennifer Aniston with Brad Pitt, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Rhea Perlman, Laura Dern and Patricia Arquette.
