Three dot-coms open interactive Sundance lounge
Venue to fete e-mail, games, digital films
Designed as a meet-and-greet opportunity for the general public and Sundance's featured indie filmmakers, the lounge, which is not officially affiliated with Sundance, will be located at Park City's Harry O's club. It will be open Jan. 21-29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"The Interactive Lounge is the perfect venue for us in Park City," said Jim Banister, chief programmer for the Warner Bros.-owned biz-focused Web site Entertaindom. "The Lounge will showcase the best of our original online programming and offer festival attendees a peek into the future of entertainment."
Internet database firm ShowBiz Data will contribute business-to-business services to the lounge, while Sun Microsystems will provide the technology. ShowBiz is also backing an online pitch fest and auction, also taking place during the eight-day event.
Lounge sponsors include Communities.com, Hitachi, Dell Computer, EBay and Hollywood Video.
