The new production entity will be based in Berlin and headed by producer Stephan Schesch.
Ellipse Deutschland will concentrate on animation before branching out into other areas of television production. Schesch worked for Film Roman in Los Angeles and also at Trickompany in Germany. Trickompany has co-produced three toon series with Ellipse's animation division, Ellipsanime.
Ellipse plans to set up similar production centers in Italy, Spain and Britain.
