Believe it: TBS grows Cain for 'Ripley's'

Skein first of development deal for former Superman

Men who are able to leap tall building in a single bound may not be featured in TBS' upcoming series "Ripley's Believe or Not," but Dean Cain will still take center stage on the series as host the cabler's weekly reality show. Series will bow Jan. 12 and run Wednesdays at 8:05 p.m.

Project is the first to come out of a low- to mid-seven-figure development deal for the former star of "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" for the Superstation.

Sources said other series and/or movies are expected to be unveiled within the next six months.

Erik Nelson has been tapped as exec producer for the series, which is being produced by Columbia TriStar through Cain's production company Angry Dragon Entertainment and Nelson's Termite Art Prods.

Cain's production partner Mike Carr will also take a producer role.

Cain recently completed Sony Screen Gems' "The Broken Hearts Club," which is slated to premiere at Sundance.
