Cooper, a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 for 53 years, was one of the first art directors hired by NBC-TV in 1950, a position he held until 1959. While at NBC, he designed scenery for Martin and Lewis, Jimmy Durante, Ed Wynn, Esther Williams, Tallulah Bankhead and Paul Winchell.
He also designed several Broadway shows including Orson Welles' production of "King Lear" (1956).
Beginning in 1960, he became the art director for Goodson-Todman Prods., which was located in New York at the time. He eventually rose to the position of vice president and art director and helped develop such shows as "Password," "Family Feud" and "The Price Is Right."
Services will be held at noon Sunday at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, TaNaCH Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Cooper's name be made to the American Heart Assn. or the Braille Institute.
