Michael Daruty has been upped to senior VP of technical operations for Universal Studios Operations Group, the studio announced Thursday.

In his new post, Daruty will oversee technical services and special projects, including the High Definition Telecine Center and the Digital Video Compression Center. He will also be responsible for the new global inventory, tracking and purchase order system and for consolidating the studio's filmed and video assets worldwide.
